Cornman, Lerner and Van Ness Elected - Beckerley, Hartfield, Mason and McGowan Returned to Office - Roads and Recreation Levies Pass

Each of our local governing bodies will have a new member with Cornman, Lerner and Van Ness all winning seats. Beckerley, Hartfield, Mason and McGowan were returned to office.

Reached shortly after the election results were known, school board member-elect Jennifer Cornman said she was "very happy about the outcome. Really looking forward to working with the current school board members — a very strong team. I really appreciate all the support that people have given me."

Michelle Lerner, after winning her race for a Village Council seat, said she was "really excited for the opportunity to work with current village council members and to make a difference."

Dan Van Ness was out in the Township retrieving campaign signs when The Granville Press reached him by phone. After hearing of his win, Van Ness said "I want to thank all the other people who were interested in running for Township Trustee and I hope they will be willing to continue to work for the Township."

Bill Mason was returned to one of the two Township Trustee positions up for election. Reached after the election, Mason said "we have a lot of work to do. Looking forward to working with Dan. I am obviously disappointed that Paul did not get in." Bill Mason and Paul Jenks had run together for the two open Trustee positions.

Melissa Hartfield and Matt McGowan were re-elected as members of Village Council. The Granville Press was unable to reach them by press time.

Tony Beckerley was re-elected as a member of Board of Education. The Granville Press was unable to reach him by press time.

Both the Recreation and Township roads levies passed by solid margins.
