Planning Commission Has A Very Heavy Agenda

The Planning Commission has eleven items on its agenda for Monday, July 28, 2008 at 7:00 pm. In addition to considering a new proposal by Denison University for exterior work on Cleveland Hall that includes three additions, the Commission also will review nine other new proposals for work within the historic district and permanent zoning for the 514 acres that were annexed into the Village last year.

During New Business, the Planning Commission will consider the following:

1. Establishing a permanent zoning classification for the 514-Acre annexation, To initiate permanent zoning for the 514-Acres +/- that were annexed to the Village in 2007, per Resolution Number 08-30 of the Village Council, changing the classification from AG, Agricultural District or C-1, Community District to OSD, Open Space District.
2. Application #08-80: Submitted by Tim & Cathy Klingler, for the property located at 219 Summit Street. The request is for architectural review and approval of an eastern side yard picket fence and air conditi0ning unit to be located along the southern side of the home. The property is zoned Village Residential District (VRD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).
3. Application #08-81: Submitted by Art Chonko, Denison University for the property located at 210 West College Street, Cleveland Hall. See previous story here.
4. Application #08-85: Submitted by Granville Ohio Historical Society, for the property located at 115 East Broadway. The request is for architectural review and approval of removal of a doorway facing Broadway. The property is zoned Village Business District (VBD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).
5. Application #08-86: Submitted by Granville Township, for the property located at 133 East College Street. The request is for review and approval of a change of use to Category “C”, Business and Professional Offices, for the entire primary structure. The property is zoned Village Business District (VBD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).
6. Application #08-87: Submitted by Granville Township Fire Department, for the property located at 133 East College Street. The request is for review and approval of a wall sign. The property is zoned Village Business District (VBD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).
7. Application #08-88: Submitted by Kevin Kittle, for the property located at 224-E East College Street. The request is for review and approval of exterior modifications to the rear accessory structure as follows:

1) Replacement of existing wood double hung windows on southern elevation with vinyl double hung windows, with simulated divided lite, to match windows on primary structure;

2) Replacement of existing wood double hung windows on western, northern and eastern elevation with vinyl double hung windows;

3) Replacement of aluminum siding on 2nd level and concrete block on 1st level with Hardi-plank Board & Batten siding on the southern elevation;

4) Replacement of aluminum siding on 2nd level with Hardi-plank on western, northern and eastern elevations;

5) Replacement of wood mandoors on the southern and northern elevations with a Thermatru six-panel, fiberglass door, painted white, on the southern elevation and a Thermatru, half glass, two-panel fiberglass door, painted white, on the northern elevation.

6) Replacement of wood garage doors with steel carriage style garage doors. The property is zoned Village Residential District (VRD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).

8. Application #08-89: Submitted by Thomas Fuller, for the property located at 128 East Broadway. The request is for review and approval of an exterior modification to stucco over the existing brick wall within the alley area on the western side of the building. The property is zoned Village Business District (VBD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).
9. Application #08-90: Submitted by Jeremy & Cara Johnson, for the property located at 2613 Newark-Granville Road. The request is for architectural review and approval of a rear 2nd floor addition, new railing on front and side porch, removal and replacement of side porch adjacent to the 2nd floor addition, modification of existing deck and fence to accommodate the 2nd floor addition. The property is zoned Suburban Residential District-A (SRD-A) and the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD) requirements apply.
10. Application #08-91: Submitted by Douglas Hoffman, for the property located at 410-412 West Broadway. The request is for review and approval of rear addition and porch. The property is zoned Suburban Residential District-B (SRD-B) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).
11. Application #08-92: Submitted by Keith & Monique Keegan, for the property located at 446 East Broadway. The request is for review and approval of a site plan to remove a portion of the parking area and to install additional landscaping. The property is zoned Village Business District (VBD) and is located within the Architectural Review Overlay District (AROD).

Funny how they always seem to submit their applications when most people are out of town.
