Mayor's Court Generated Over $12,000 For The General Fund

Granville's monthly Mayor's Court Report shows $14,667 collected during the month of July which permitted a transfer of $12,052 to the village's general fund.

The court processed 83 traffic citations, 38 parking tickets, and 18 criminal complaints during the month. A total of 64 cases actually appeared in court.

34 cases were transferred to Licking County Municipal Court and 3 cases were transferred to Juvenile Court.

A quick look at Mayor's Court traffic citations for June and July '08 and July '07 suggests that in July our police officers were assigned to catch parking violators rather than to run speed traps. Odd -- I'd have thought that time spent on speed traps would be more $ productive than parking violators? I wonder if the Force is analyzing such productivity statistics?
